John Rowe (born 21 March 1936) is an Australian author who specialises in books about the Vietnam War during the 1960s and 1970s.[1]
He was a professional soldier for fifteen years and saw active service in the Malayan Emergency, Kashmir, Borneo and Vietnam where he was promoted to Major. His first book "Count Your Dead", a novel on the Vietnam War was published in 1968 while he was serving in Washington, D.C. with the Defense Intelligence Agency. He resigned from the army after the publication of this book, which caused a great amount of controversy, returned to Australia.
